Terms of Service
Last updated: 10 August 2026
10 August 2026: corrected the GST position. StoryLink is
registered for GST, so prices include GST and a tax invoice is available on
request. The earlier wording said the opposite.
1. The service
StoryLink provides shared story-reading experiences for families: a library of storybooks, live story-time calls between family members, AI-generated stories, and voice-recorded readings. Accounts are for personal, family use.
2. Accounts and families
- Parent accounts must be created by adults (18+).
- Child profiles may only be added by a parent, and are controlled by the family's parents at all times.
- Keep your password and family invite code private: anyone with the code can request to join your family.
3. Fair use of AI stories
Personalised AI stories are a paid feature. Subscription plans include a set number of new stories each month; you can also buy individual books at any time. The free plan includes the full library of original books and unlimited live story time, but not free personalised stories. Story descriptions must be appropriate for children; every story passes an automated safety check and may be declined. You own the personal content you enter; the generated stories are for your family's private use within StoryLink.
4. Your content
Voice recordings and story descriptions stay private to your family. You confirm you have the right to record your own voice and to describe the family moments you submit. We may remove content that breaks these terms or the law.
5. Subscriptions, pricing and refunds
The library of original books and live story time are free to use. Personalised books and subscriptions are paid: pricing is always shown in the app before purchase, billed through the App Store, and subscriptions renew until cancelled in your App Store account settings. All prices are shown in Australian dollars and include GST.
Refunds: because billing is processed by Apple, requesting a refund through Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com) is usually fastest. Nothing about that limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law: our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded, and if a paid feature has a major failure you are entitled to remedies from us directly, including a refund where the law provides for one. Just email support@story-link.com.au.
6. Printed keepsakes (physical goods)
Printed keepsakes are not on sale yet. The terms in this section apply from the day they open.
A finished Grand Adventure can be ordered as a printed hardcover book from story-link.com.au/keepsake. This is a physical product sold on the web, not an in-app purchase: StoryLink (ABN 48 372 445 638) is the seller, not Apple, and not the App Store. Payment is taken by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.
Price and tax. The price shown at checkout is in Australian dollars and includes delivery within Australia. StoryLink is registered for GST (ABN 48 372 445 638), so the price includes GST and a tax invoice is available on request at support@story-link.com.au. We ship to Australian addresses only.
Made to order. Each book is personalised to your child and printed individually once you order. Nothing is held in stock. Printing, binding and postage take time; the estimate shown at checkout is our honest expectation, not a guaranteed delivery date. We'll email you when your book goes to print and again when it ships.
Cancelling and change of mind. You can cancel for a full refund at any time before your book goes to print: just email support@story-link.com.au and we'll stop it. Once it has been printed we can't cancel, resell or restock a book made for one child, so change-of-mind refunds are not available after that point.
Your consumer guarantees are untouched. Nothing above limits the Australian Consumer Law. Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded: you are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and to have goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality. If your book arrives damaged, misprinted, incomplete or different from what you ordered, email us a photo and we will reprint it or refund you. You won't be asked to post it back.
7. Acceptable use
Don't attempt to access other families' data, disrupt the service, or use StoryLink for anything unlawful. We may suspend accounts that do.
8. Disclaimers
StoryLink is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law (including the Australian Consumer Law guarantees, which always apply), we're not liable for indirect losses from use of the service. Live calls depend on your internet connection.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. We publish the date they were last updated at the top of this page, along with a note of what changed, and we post material changes here before they take effect. If you don't agree with a change, you can stop using StoryLink and cancel any subscription before it applies; a change won't apply to you retrospectively.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. You and StoryLink submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law, which always apply.
11. About us & contact
StoryLink is a registered Australian business name (ABN 48 372 445 638) operated from Queensland, Australia. Our registered entity details are available from ABN Lookup or on request. For any question about these terms, contact support@story-link.com.au.
